Michael Onghai, CFA is the President and CEO of Snowy August Special Mortgages Capital LLC. Mr. Onghai was the 1st software engineer of GeoCities, which was sold to Yahoo in 1999. He had worked in software development, technology, and analyst roles at the Human Genome Project, Price-Waterhouse and the Capital Group. Following the sale of GeoCities, he became an entrepreneur and sold his companies before he embarked on a career as a hedge fund manager. He was a member of the small club where Michael Burry of "The Big Short' was discovered by Joel Greenblatt. He went on to manage a family for an Ultra-High Net Worth family office in New York. He is a seed investor and co-founder of a digital assets hedge fund named Alpha Sigma Capital. As a technology investor, he was seed investor in 11 companies, 3 of which became unicorns. He currently runs his own family office.

He held CEO duties, Chief Technology Officer and CFO duties in publicly listed in Nasdaq, venture funded companies and private companies. His roles have included Founder, Chairman, CEO, and CFO and Chief investment Officer. In addition, he is a CFA charter holder, professional advisor, and outside business partner, who possesses extensive knowledge in investing, fund management, business development, and real estate consulting. He has shared his expertise at conferences and seminars on capital markets and investing, real estate, business development, and technology.
